There are basically two registered versions of Liberty BASIC:
TheSILVER REGULAR edition provides an affordable way to start using Liberty BASIC. It is the full product without with the ability to create standalong standalone applications that can be distributed.
TheGOLD PRO edition is required if you want includes some additional tools to compile standalone programs that can be distributed to people who do not own Liberty BASIC. make your development easier (see image below).
ShopTalk Systems also offersthe GOLD edition in a special Value CD-ROM Edition that includes the development tools on CD, Alyce Watson's excellent Liberty BASIC 4 Companion ebook, e-book, Liberty BASIC Newsletter articles as well as the special Liberty BASIC Insider by Carl Gundel.
